Los premios "BET Awards 2011" fueron celebrados ayer desde el Shrine Auditorium de Los Angeles, California. El gran ganador fue Chris Brown, quien se llevó cinco premios de las seis nominaciones que tenía, mientras que en las categorías destacadas ganaron Kanye West (‘Best Male Hip-Hop Artist'), Wiz Khalifa (‘Best New Artist') y Nicki Minaj (Best Female Hip-Hop Artist).
Este evento es organizado por la cadena musical televisiva BET, la cual reconoció mediante votos del público lo principal relacionado al hip hop en Estados Unidos durante el año 2010.
Mientras muchos entendían que Rihanna debió ser la máxima ganadora, otros esperaban mayor participación musical por parte de sus estrellas favoritas. Los momentos cumbres de la velada, fueron las intervenciones de Alycia Keys y Bruno Mars cantando "A woman's word" y el cierre a cargo de Chris Brown interpretando su canción "Medley".
